Let's get into the build.
⚡ The AI Pulse: What Marketers Need to Know
AI Companies Took Over Super Bowl LX — And It Wasn't Even Close
Super Bowl LX wasn't just a football game — it was the AI industry's coming-out party. Anthropic debuted with a 60-second pregame spot and 30-second in-game ad with a pointed tagline: "Ads are coming to AI. But not to Claude." OpenAI fired back with a "builders" spot. SVEDKA ran what it called the first primarily AI-generated national Super Bowl commercial, producing its "Shake Your Bots Off" spot with AI company Silverside. Google showcased Gemini, Amazon pushed Alexa+, and Meta highlighted its AI glasses. Startups Genspark, Base44, Wix, Ramp, and Rippling all bought spots too — pushing tech's Super Bowl ad share to around 10%.
So What? AI is no longer a back-office B2B story — it's fighting for consumer trust at $7M per 30 seconds. The Anthropic vs. OpenAI positioning war (ads in AI vs. ad-free AI) directly shapes which platforms marketers will build on long-term. And SVEDKA's AI-generated spot is the real signal: when a vodka brand can produce a national Super Bowl commercial using AI, the barrier to high-production creative just collapsed. Every brand — not just tech — should be rethinking their creative production pipeline.
Anthropic Launches Claude Opus 4.6 with Agent Teams and 1M-Token Context
Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.6, its most capable model yet, featuring a 1-million-token context window (in beta) and a new "agent teams" capability that splits complex projects into parallel sub-tasks. The model also tops the Finance Agent benchmark and shows significant improvements in coding, planning, and financial analysis. Same day, OpenAI launched GPT-5.3-Codex (its most powerful coding model) and Frontier (its enterprise agent platform) — making February 5th the single biggest day for AI announcements this year.
So What? Agent teams are the headline for marketers. Instead of prompting Claude one task at a time, you can now break complex marketing projects — campaign audits, competitive analysis, content calendars — into parallel sub-tasks that run simultaneously. One agent researches competitors, another drafts copy, a third builds the media plan. The 1M-token context means you can feed an entire campaign brief, brand guidelines, and six months of performance data in a single conversation. This isn't incremental — it's a workflow architecture shift.
OpenAI Launches Frontier: The Enterprise Platform for Managing AI Agents Like Employees
OpenAI introduced Frontier, a new platform that lets enterprises deploy and manage AI agents the same way they'd onboard new employees — complete with permissions, performance reviews, and scoped access to existing tools. Frontier connects to systems of record like Salesforce and Workday, letting agents pull context from across the business without migrations. Early adopters include HP, Oracle, State Farm, and Uber, with OpenAI embedding engineers on-site to help teams get agents into production.
So What? This is the enterprise agent layer play. Marketing ops teams can now deploy AI agents that pull context across CRM, analytics, and project tools — without custom engineering or months of integration work. But the bigger story is the platform war underneath: Anthropic is building its agent ecosystem on the open MCP standard (which we covered in last week's bonus), while OpenAI is building a proprietary enterprise platform. Which ecosystem your company commits to now will determine your AI infrastructure for years. If you're evaluating, pay attention to the integration approach — open protocol vs. managed platform — because switching costs will only increase.
Google and Microsoft Are Paying Creators $400K–$600K to Promote AI
A CNBC report revealed that Microsoft and Google are offering creators $400,000–$600,000 for long-term AI promotion partnerships, with individual posts commanding up to $100,000. OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta are also hiring social media creators for sponsored content. Digital ad spending by Google and Microsoft to promote AI products jumped approximately 495% year-over-year, and generative AI platforms spent over $1 billion on digital ads in the U.S. in 2025 — up 126% from the prior year. Some creators are rejecting deals, citing ethical concerns and audience backlash risk.
So What? A massive new budget category — AI brand promotion — is emerging, and it's creating both opportunity and risk for marketers. If you manage influencer programs, the premium rates signal unprecedented demand for creators who can explain AI convincingly. But the backlash risk is real: audiences are increasingly skeptical of paid AI endorsements, and some creators are walking away from six-figure deals to protect credibility. The smartest play? Position as an authentic AI practitioner, not a paid promoter. In this market, credibility is the currency that outlasts sponsorship checks.

🤖 Bonus: Claude in Excel — AI Inside Your Spreadsheets
Marketers live in spreadsheets. Budget models, campaign trackers, ROI calculators, media mix scenarios — they're the backbone of every planning cycle. And yet, most of us spend more time debugging formulas and rebuilding models from scratch than actually analyzing data.
That changed on January 24, 2026, when Anthropic expanded Claude in Excel to all Pro plan subscribers ($20/month). Here's what you need to know.
What is it?
Claude now lives inside Microsoft Excel as a native sidebar assistant. Activate it with Ctrl+Option+C (Mac) or Ctrl+Alt+C (Windows), and you're talking to an AI that reads your entire workbook — every tab, every formula, every dependency chain. It doesn't just autocomplete formulas. It understands your model.
The Problem: Marketers spend hours building campaign performance reports, budget allocation models, and ROI calculators in Excel — manually writing formulas, debugging errors across tabs, and rebuilding models every quarter. When leadership asks "what happens if we shift 20% of budget from Meta to LinkedIn?" — that's an afternoon of recalculating.
The Solution: Claude in Excel can build financial models from scratch, test scenarios across multiple tabs while preserving all formulas, debug errors in seconds, and create pivot tables, charts, and conditional formatting — all through natural language conversation. You can even choose between Sonnet 4.5 (fast, lightweight tasks) and Opus 4.6 (complex multi-tab reasoning).
Learn more about Claude in Excel
✅ 5 marketing spreadsheet use cases — and exactly what to build with each:
- Budget Allocation Model — Tell Claude your total budget, channels, and constraints → it builds a multi-tab model with allocation by channel, monthly pacing, and automatic rollover logic. Ask "shift 15% from Display to Paid Social" and watch it recalculate every dependent cell across tabs.
- Campaign ROI Calculator — Feed Claude your spend, impressions, clicks, and conversions → it builds a calculator with CPA, ROAS, CPM, and CTR formulas, plus conditional formatting that flags underperforming campaigns in red. Add a new campaign row and every metric auto-populates.
- Media Mix Scenario Testing — Build a base-case model, then ask Claude "what happens to total ROAS if we double LinkedIn spend and cut Meta by 30%?" It creates a new scenario tab preserving the original, with a comparison summary showing the delta across all KPIs.
- Performance Dashboard — Point Claude at raw campaign data → it generates pivot tables by channel/week/campaign, creates charts (spend vs. conversions over time), and applies conditional formatting. Ask for a "weekly executive summary" tab and it builds one that auto-updates from the pivots.
- Competitor Spend Tracker — Structure a tracker with competitor names, estimated monthly spend by channel, share of voice, and trend columns. Claude builds formulas for MoM % change, running averages, and flags competitors whose spend increased >20% — giving you an early warning system.
That's a wrap for this week in AI.
See you next week,
